The labour organisation has therefore called on all its members to take to the streets on Thursday in all major cities across South Africa to protest against what it calls joblessness. The gatherings will be in support of the Jobs and Poverty Campaign. Cosatu says in a statement the levels of unemployment and poverty in South Africa are totally unacceptable, and the poverty this causes, is inflicting misery on millions of families. Cosatu says joblessness should be declared a national emergency.
