Mbeki meets Free State farmers
The profitability of agriculture in the Free State will be one of the main discussing points between President Thabo Mbeki and farmers in the province on today. Mbeki will meet farmers in Bethlehem as part of his presidential municipal imbizo in the eastern Free State. Free State Agriculture President Louw Staytler says profitability has a direct impact on the province's economy, as it is about the survival of Free State farmers and farmworkers. Other issues expected to be discussed related to land reform and black economic empowerment in the agricultural sector.
