The search for the Alexandros T called off
The search for 26 missing crew of the Greek bulk carrier Alexandros T off the coast of Port Elizabeth has been suspended until further notice. Mission co-ordinator Jared Blows says the search has been suspended due to bad light and will only resume if new information is received or new sightings of life-rafts are reported. The 299-metre Alexandros T broke up and sank in heavy seas on Wednesday, about 600 kilometres off the coast of Port Elizabeth. Only seven crewmembers were rescued. The ship was headed from Brazil to China with a load of steel.
