Temporary measures for Cape Town parking

The Cape Town City Council has appointed two curb side parking contractors in the city centre, Sea Point and Claremont. This has been done on a month to month basis until the Council is able to publicly re-advertise the tender for a long term contractor to manage parking. A Council spokesperson says the decision was made in an effort to ensure that there was a turn-over of parking space so that business did not suffer in the three busy areas. Parking tariffs will remain the same.
