The South African Police Service has deployed 800 more police officers to strengthen security at three of the four stadiums used for Confederations Cup matches.

This has been done following fears that last-minute security arrangements by the organising committee will not suffice. Another 250 officers were deployed at both the Royal Bafokeng stadium and at Loftus Versfeld.
