Woodstock police arrested two women for being in possession of stolen copper cables at Princess hall in Princess Street, Walmer Estate.
Police were alerted by the public about the possible cable theft happening there.
On their arrival police searched the place and they caught two women busy stripping the wires on the premises with an estimated street value of R40 000-00.
Spokesperson for Woodstock police station Sergeant Hilton Malila said,: the two suspects are currently in police custody and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate court on Monday on a charge of Possession of stolen property.
