The owner of a shebeen in Mfuleni has been arrested for possession illegal firearm and ammunition.
Police say the arrest follows after they received a tip off from the public about an illegal firearm that is at Madiba Shebeen yesterday.
Immediately the police obtained a search warrant to search the premises.
“At about 12:15 the same day the Mfuleni police in conjunction with the Dog Unit executed the search,” said police spokesperson Nomathemba Muavha.
A 9mm pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition was discovered in the house.
The suspect will appear in the Blue Downs Court tomorrow.
