Four people have been arrested following a break-in at a store at the Long Beach Mall.
Police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk eleven men gained access to Long Beach Mall by forcing open the entrance doors at one of the business premises at the mall.
“It is alleged that the perpetrators proceed to a Jewellery Studio and smashed in the shop windows.
“An eye-witness, a security guard on duty, notified the local police immediately. On Police arrival they saw a suspicious vehicle driving away from the Mall with its headlights off and a chase ensued,” said van Wyk .
The driver of the suspicious vehicle lost control thereof and it overturned in Kalk Bay Main Road Fish Hoek.
Jewellery to the value of R 282 159 was recovered in and around the vehicle. Seven suspects are still at large added van Wyk.
