A heat wave warning has been issued in Cape Town after temperatures hit 37-degrees Celsius yesterday.
A warning has also been issued for runaway vegetation fires.
Several families were displaced over the weekend after fires gutted their homes, no one was killed in the fire.
Development MEC, Patricia de Lille, says those affected by the fires are being provided with assistance.
MEC de Lille also added that she instructed the department to deliver blankets and food to the survivors.
