A man has been killed in Parow this morning after being crashed concrete mixer.
ER24 spokesperson Andre Visser says the man believed to be in his early forties was instructed by his supervisors to clean a concrete pan mixer, as this is a task he has done numerous times before.
“A lack of communication of some sort led to the piece of machinery being turned on whilst the man was inside it still cleaning the mechanism.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the man still entrapped in the machines mechanism. The man had sustained fatal crushing injuries to the upper part of his body and was later declared dead at the scene,” said Visser.
