A five-year-old boy nearly drowned at his home in Waterkloof, Pretoria on Saturday.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said paramedics arrived at the scene to find that they boy had been pulled from the water but was not breathing and did not have a pulse.
The boy was rushed to hospital after he was in critical condition.
The five-year-old boy remains in stable condition in hospital.
