AgriSA says rural safety in Gauteng received a massive boost with the 500 new vehicles given to police.
Rural safety head André Botha says the vehicles will be used to improve service delivery in the province.
Botha adds that sector policing, which is one of the concepts used to safeguard rural areas, will also benefit immensely from the new vehicles.
Out of the new vehicles, 67 of the new vehicles will be used solely for rural flying squad units.
