Workers at the Johannesburg garbage removal company, Pikitup, are expected to embark on a full blown strike today.
The workers, who are affiliated to the SA Municipal Workers’ Union, have already been on a go-slow in the city for the last ten-days.
The go-slow has resulted in garbage piling up in some areas.
Samwu spokesperson Tahir Sema says workers are angry amongst other things, corruption at Pikitup and abuse of power.
