The Eastern Cape government says an outbreak of bird flu is under control. Avian Influenza was detected on an ostrich farm in Teasdale, near Graaff-Reinet, last month.
The provincial department of rural development says the farm was immediately placed under quarantine, along with nearby farms.
The owner of Teasdale has had to cull all 628 of his birds in order to prevent the disease from spreading.
In May, 10,000 ostriches were culled in the Western Cape as they tested positive for Avian Flu.
The entire Klein Karoo area, which represents 70 percent of the ostrich industry, was affected by the outbreak.
