Buthelezi asks for a debate on his IFP leadership
Inkhata Freedom Party President Mangosuthu Buthelezi has called a one-day national conference to allow for members to express their views on his continued leadership of the party. Buthelezi says in a statement that there has been widespread media comment pertaining to his leadership in the aftermath of the local government elections. He says in order to give expression to the debate he has called for the conference on the 8th of April. Buthelezi says he wants to resolve the leadership question in a democratic fashion so that the IFP annual party conference in July will be able to focus solely on mapping the way forward towards victory in the 2009 General Election.
