4-million-rands worth of jewellery stolen in Franschhoek
Jewellery worth about four million Rands was stolen during an armed robbery in the Boland town of Franschhoek today. Police say a jewellery shop in Main Road was robbed just after 9-o-clock on Wednesday morning. Four armed men allegedly entered the shop and demanded money from the owner at gunpoint. The owner opened the safe and the suspects took jewellery to the value of about 4-million-rand. The suspects, who were dressed in blue overalls, then fled the scene. Nobody was injured during the incident and no shots were fired.
