Baby dolphin reunited with its family
The NSRI crew at Mossel Bay in the Southern Cape have proved that not only human but all life is important to them. When a baby dolphin got trapped in a rock pool, Coxswain Andre Fraser did not hesitate before loading the frightened baby on board their rescue craft to search for its family. The baby, which was healthy but for a slight injury to its beak, was released into a school of dolphins that appeared to come and greet the little one as it was released into the sea. Fraser said it looked almost like the school had come to say thank you as they cavorted around the rescue craft.
