Mpumalanga could get its own university
Mpumalanga may get its first university with the establishment of a National Institute for Higher Education in the province. Mpumalanga does not have a university, but does have campuses for various institutions like the Tshwane University of Technology and University of South Africa. Provincial Government spokesperson Lebona Mosia told the media on Thursday that the Institute would co-ordinate these bodies. He said all satellite campuses in the province that are funded by the national Department of Education would keep their separate identities, but be administered by the Institute.
