There have been numerous reports of bomb threats at public places in the City over the past few weeks.
No less than four establishments had to be evacuated following threats of bombs that were alleged to be in the buildings.
Disaster Risk Management spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says that in many cases, the person making the call is known to the business or enterprise. In some cases, they may even be a disgruntled employee.
“The record has shown that bombs are the primary weapon of a terrorist, and where there is retaliation from employees that faced grievances,” he said.
He added delivering a bomb threat is a criminal activity, which is punishable by law.
