The Executive Mayor, Dan Plato and a team from Cape-based global investment management company, Oasis Group Holdings, will visit Uitsig today to complete the Oasis winter food parcel handout drive for 2009.
“Since the beginning of winter, Oasis has distributed a thousand parcels to the poor, a long-standing company tradition,” said Rulleska Singh, Mayoral spokesperson.
She added: “Uitsig is a particular deserving suburb for such charitable donations, as it has the highest rate of diagnosed tuberculosis patients in South Africa.”
