A 30 year old woman died after being pushed into an oncoming train by her boyfriend at Eisleben railway line in Nyanga yesterday.
It is alleged that the two had an argument between the railway lines, while the suspect was holding a child.
“According to witnesses they heard a scream of a woman, crying that the man must leave her alone, said police spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi.
Captain Sitshithsi added that while they were arguing the suspect pushed the victim into the oncoming train (on route from Cape Town to Mitchells Plain).
The 39 year old male suspect tried to flee the crime scene, but community members caught him and handed him over to police.
He will appear in the Athlone Magistrate court tomorrow on charges of murder
