Three suspects are behind bars for hi-jacking and two of them for attempted murder.
Police say two suspects allegedly hijacked two Somalians of their vehicle in Gugulethu on Wednesday at gunpoint.
“One of the victims was shot in his right shoulder when he resisted. He was taken to hospital for treatment,” said police spokesperson Inspector Chrisna van Lille.
Later that day, the suspects were arrested for the hijacking incident that occurred in Khayeltsha, where one of them was injured and taken to hospital.
Police say the Somalian victim who was also taken to hospital identified the suspect.
Inspector Van Lille says a firearm fitting the description of the firearm used in the incident and the hijacked vehicle were discovered during the arrest.
The vehicle which the robbers used in the hi-jacking was also found to be stolen.
Two charges of hi-jacking and one for attempted murder will be investigated against the suspect.
