The South African Defence Force’s Kimberley military has been a pharmacy by the defence department in the US.

Media reports say the facility will be useful as a roll-out site for anti-retroviral treatment for HIV-infected defence force employees and their immediate dependants.

Lieutenant Colonel James Burton of the US mentions that the country’s defence staff are more than adequately trained to run the pharmacy.

Burton highlighted that the reason for this exercise was based on the fact that HIV and Aids remain major health problems for defence forces around the world.
