Tensions have risen in the Midvaal area of Gauteng after allegations of electoral fraud.
Members of the Democratic Alliance have laid charges of electoral fraud against eight people who registered to vote in the area using fake addresses.
They accused the African National Congress of bussing voters into the area to vote. Midvaal Mayor, Timothy Nast, says there may be as many as 120 other cases of fraud.
Gauteng’s electoral officer Sy Mamabolo said he met with members of the DA and ANC to get to the bottom of the allegations. The ANC has denied the allegations.
