Wife of State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele, Sheryl Cwele, will today offer her defence to charges of drug trafficking in the Ramsgate court in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Cwele and her co-accused, Nigerian citizen Frank Nabolisa, allegedly conspired to recruit Tessa Beetge and Charmaine Moss as drug mules.

Beetge is serving an eight year sentence in Brazil after being arrested there for possession of 10 kilograms of cocaine.

Cwele and Nabolisa have pleaded not guilty in the High Court in Pietermaritzburg, which switched the proceedings to Ramsgate until the 18th of the month.
