A defiant Muammar Gaddafi has threatened to carry out attacks in Europe unless Nato halts its campaign of airstrikes against his government in Libya.

Gaddafi’s message was played yesterday to thousands of supporters gathered in the main square of Tripoli.

Yesterday’s gathering was one of the largest pro-government rallies in recent weeks.

It came days after the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Gaddafi and two other leaders.
