Protest action near Siqalo causes road closures

Motorists have been cautioned to avoid some roads leading to Mitchells Plain due to protest action.

A group of protesters are burning tyres and rubble along Jakes Gerwel Drive, close to the Siqalo informal settlement. Jakes Gerwel Drive at the R300 in both directions are closed due to protest action and tyres and rubble in that roadway.

The reasons for the protest action has not been confirmed yet.
