As many people are still settling into the New Year, motorists have to brace themselves with a bit of bad news, as the petrol price is set to rise yet again.
Motorists should be prepared to fork out R8 a litre for petrol this year. Currently motorists along the coast are paying R7, 23 a litre unleaded petrol.

Earlier this week oil prices reached a record high, with a barrel of oil costing R680. The recent hike is set to have a major impact on food and meat prices.
The Fuel Retailer Association’s Peter Morgan told a daily paper that the fuel price was affected by many factors among which were the prices of crude oil.
“This year will see the highest fuel prices in our history. It’s not good news for motorists, but we must be realistic,” says Morgan.
