Police are offering hijacking tips to the public following a hijack that took place in Mitchell’s Plain when a Toyota Quantum was robbed in front of a house while waiting for the worker.
The Toyota Quantum was approached by two male suspects who and one pointed a gun at the driver and five passengers that were inside the vehicle.
They drove the Toyota Quantum to Harare where a third suspect was waiting and removed the vehicle tracker.
After the incident police have issued tips to the public when they are in a situation which can be similar to this.
1. Try to have vehicle fitted with a tracker and double sensors where possible.
2. Deviate from usual habitual routes of travel to and from work/home.
3 Always be alert for suspicious persons and vehicles especially at intersections.
4. Maintain a safe following distance from the car in front in case of any emergency developing.
5. If you suspect you are being followed try to drive to the nearest police station for help.
6.People who lay false complaints will face perjury charges.
