Two security guards were shot and killed in Langa, on Monday evening.
Police spokesperson, Captain F.C van Wyk said the men were
escorting a delivery vehicle and the last delivery was in Langa, whereby they
came under attack at Harry Gwala Street opposite the Langa taxi rank.
‘’Langa police registered two counts of murder following a
shooting incident last night (Monday, 2025-02-03) at about 18:26 at Harry
Gwalla Street opposite the Langa taxi rank, Langa, where two males (security
guards) aged 24 and 31 were shot and fatally wounded,’’ said Captain F.C Van
Wyk, Western Cape police spokesperson.
‘’According to reports the security guards were escorting a
delivery vehicle and the last delivery was in Langa. On their way back at the
circle, it's alleged that two unknown males shot at the white Nissan LDV they
were driving in, fatally wounding them. Nothing were taken from them, both
firearms were recovered in the vehicle,’’ he added.
Police said the motive is suspected to be robbery.
