A man believed to be in his early 20’s has reportedly gone missing on Tuesday afternoon, after he was swept into a current, off-shore near the Sea Point Pavilion.
According to the National Sea Rescue Institute the man is believed to be from Zimbabwe.
“A full scale search revealed no sign of the man. Police divers attended to the scene again on Wednesday morning,” says NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon.
Meanwhile in a separate incident two teenagers got safely out of surf at Table View after being swept out to sea by a strong current.
Lambinon says police dispatched to the scene, confirmed that the teens required no further assistance.
