The African National Congress has confirmed the expulsion of three councillors in the Breedevallei Municipality in the Boland. Luvuyo Kelepu, Freddie Speelman and Bettie Fortuin were last month found guilty by the ANC Western Cape disciplinary committee of signing a motion of no-confidence in the ANC leadership in the municipality.
They acted in collaboration with opposition parties. ANC Spokesperson Jessie Duarte says these three individuals for sometime were Unable to co-operate with ANC the leadership of the ANC and were deliberately undermining the ANC leadership in the Breedevallei Municipality.
She added that it is not the first time that Mr Kelepu appeared before the ANC disciplinary committee and that it is very clear that he is supporting the breakaway party led by Lekota.
Duarte says the party will continue to act against members who violate the ANC’s constitution or the decisions of its structures.
