During the operation, 17 people were arrested for outstanding traffic warrants and 299 traffic fines were issued. 137 motorists were fined for driving without a licence, while 74 fines were issued for unlicenced motor vehicles,” said Metro Police Spokesperson Nowellen Petersen.
A further 21 fines were issued for by-law offences, 10 fines for not wearing a safety belt and 20 fines for taxi related offences.
