Ocean View police arrested five residents protesting against the tearing down of an illegal community structure in which the Rastafarian community built.
The residents blocked the streets with burning barriers of wood and also threw stones.
This led to a number of people who were injured and police spokesperson said five people were arrested, charged with public violence.
“The council instructed the police to go and destroy that structure which the Rastas responded by violence including burning tyres”
“But police fired rubber bullets to disperse the crowds”
