South African Football Players Union officials will fly out to attend the FIFPRO General Assembly which is scheduled for Santiago Chile from 6-10 November 2008.
SAFPU General Secretary Tebogo Mophaleng, his deputy Thulaganyo Gaoshubelwe and Chris Fortuin will attend the annual meeting.
SAFPU Media OfficerElvis Sekgobela says the assembly will deal with issues that affect the professional players all over the world
“Issues such as education, anti racism, excessive commercialization of football, the equal legal status for every professional footballer, opposition of exploitation of minors, the unbridle greed of agents and the physical of footballers in all aspect.’’
Sekgobela added that the assembly will also review its progress in relation to the resolution taken at the Barcelona, Spain Congress in 2007.
