President Kgalema Motlanthe has proclaimed April 22nd as the date for the national elections.
Motlanthe announced the poll date on Tuesday.
The announcement should appear in today’s Government Gazette.
The move ended speculation on whether or not he would wait for the outcome of a court ruling on rights of expatriates to vote before making the poll date official.
