A man has died and a female is in a critical condition after a head-on collision on the R56 near Richmond.
The accident took place on Monday afternoon.
Netcare 911s Chris Botha said a bakkie and a truck had collided and when paramedics arrived on the scene the man died because of the extensive injuries he sustained.
He added that the female passenger was in a serious condition and stabilised and taken to hospital.
