A suspected thief was burnt to death allegedly for robbing residents in Khayelitsha.
Police have reported that this has been the eight necklacing incident in the area.
Khayelitsha residents have said they resorted to necklacing because police have failed them.
Captain FC Van Wyk appeals to the community to respect the life of every individual irrespective if the person is a crime suspect.
