Minister Oliphant to launch anti-child labour campaign

Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant will be pushing ahead with the anti-child labour campaign when she marks Child Labour Day. 

Minister Oliphant said as a department they will do everything in their power to stop all forms of child labour.

Child Labour Day will be commemorated on the 22nd of August under the theme “Let me be the child”.

Departmental Spokesperson Kebalepile Khula said this day should serve as a sign of our commitment that we will do everything in our power to stop all forms of child labour.

The commemoration will serve as a platform that will highlight child labour in South Africa and advocate efforts to curb the problem Khula added.
