A brick was thrown at a pregnant Cape Town woman’s, car over the weekend.
Jackie Cameron, a journalist, told the Saturday Argus that she was surprised that the incident took place right in the city centre in daylight.
Cameron said she was travelling on the Somerset Road from Greenpoint on Thursday, when a man with dreadlocks threw a brick towards her car. This was while she was approaching the Buitengracht intersection.
The brick hit the rear left window where her child normally sits. Luckily in this case Cameron was on her own, but said that she would have been seriously injured if she never had shatterproof glass.
The man was believed to be in his 20’s. He ran towards Green Point Stadium after the incident. Cameron reported the matter at the Milnerton police station.
Cameron added that she was lucky and that the public should be aware that incidents could occur in other places, besides the high-risk areas.
