Due to political unrest and continued violence occurring in Kenya the South African government has expressed its concern of the situation happening in the country.
Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa says that South Africa is joining the international community appealing for the unrest to be avoided.
“Government indeed expresses its concern at the high levels of violence, death and destruction of property happening in Kenya,” says Mamoepa.
They have also sent their condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones.
“We are expressing our confidence that both government and opposition political parties in Kenya will find a way of working together.
The unrest in the country has been happening since the outcomes of the elections that took place in Kenya, and the death toll since the unrest stands at 310.
