The 18-year-old male that was taken in for questioning, in connection with the murder 3-year-old of Ayola Adonis, has been released.
The 18-year-old was taken in for questioning at his home on Sobukwe Ocean View on Monday Afternoon.
Inspector Bernadine Steyn said the 18-year-old is voluntarily assisting the police in the investigation.
“Currently four males are being detained for questioning in connection with Ayola’s murder and the investigation continues.”
Steyn said the autopsy was conducted on Tuesday and indicates that the 3-year-old might have been sexually assaulted.
“We are investigating a case of murder and rape.”
The autopsy will not be made available and is to be used in a court of law.
