On Friday afternoon at about 14:30, the police received a tip off and acted on information received from the public that possible stolen property is being kept at a second-hand dealership in Albert Road, Salt River.
An operation was conducted during which it was discovered that several items on the premises were not recorded in the registers.
Sergeant Hilton Malila says, we confiscated 49 laptop computers and 23 cell phones of which the serial numbers had been removed with a total value of about R50 000-00.
‘Two male suspects, aged 22 and 30 years respectively, were arrested for Possession of Possibly Stolen Property.’
They are expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's court today
