Couple to appear in court for possession of drugs and stolen property

Residents of a Lavender Hill home were arrested this morning after police gathered information indicating that drugs and firearms were kept on the premises.

“SAPS members seized about 3 500 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of about R120 000.00, about 700 gram Tik with an estimated street value of about R240 000.00,” said SAPS spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn

“Four firearms were also found-two 9mm pistols, a Z88 pistol which has its serial number filed off and a Beretta pistol,” said Steyn

The couple is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ court on Monday.
