The Independent Electoral Commission in the Western Cape launched the official Results Operation Centre (ROC) for the April 22nd General Elections.
The Opening Address was given by Provincial Electoral Officer, Courtney Sampson.
Sampson said the IEC had done its best to ensure that they are able to respond to the needs of the voters.
“The readiness of the IEC is at this stage at a very high peak. We don’t foresee any major challenges.”
Sampson continued by saying that the IEC will seek to deal with any challenges in the quickest possible way to ensure that the voting process will be as “unimpeded”.
The ROC will allow media, election observers and political party representatives to have access to the latest information and developments at the election polls.
