Home Affairs Minister announces new Zimbabwean Special Dispensation Permit

Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba has today announced the new Zimbabwean Special Dispensation Permit. 

Minister Gigaba said the objective of this is to regularize Zimbabweans residing in South Africa illegally.

Gigaba said this is to reduce pressure on the asylum seeker and refugee regime and to provide amnesty to Zimbabweans who obtained South African documents fraudulently. 

Minister Gigaba said as of the 1^st of January 2015 to 31^st December 2017 any Zimbambwean National who wishes to stay further in South Africa they need to go back to their country of origin and apply for a normal visa.
