~R3m worth of abalone seized in Bishop Lavis

Two suspects aged 23 and 43 are expected to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court soon, after they were found with R3million worth of abalone.

‘’Tactical Response Team arrested two abalone poachers yesterday (Tuesday). The members reacted on intelligence of an abalone drying facility situated in Bremen Road in the Airport industrial area, Bishop Lavis and conducted a search operation, which led to the discovery of wet and dried abalone and drying equipment with an estimated value of R3 million.’’

Traut added that two vehicles were also confiscated.
