South African petroleum retailers are yet again questioning whether petrol and diesel prices are being manipulated.
The price of petrol will increase by 61-cents a litre at midnight, despite relatively low international oil prices, with Brent crude oil trading at 44, 31 Dollars a barrel.
Meanwhile the wholesale price of diesel and illuminating paraffin decreases tonight. According to other media reports, a lack of transparency in the fuel industry has led some retailers to believe that despite regulation, refiners might be in a position to manipulate the pump prices of petrol and diesel.
