Metro Police’s crime inititiative, Operation COCA, moved to Delft and Kuils River last week and proved to be successful as they issued over 100 fines.
Nosiseko Samuel, media spokesperson for the Metro Police said:
“There were 62 fines that were issued for offences including not wearing safety belts and defective number plates.”
Samuel went on to explain that a further Eighty four drivers were charged for driving without a licence, and 38 were fined for driving unlicensed motor vehicles.
Samuel also thanked the residents of Delft and Kuils River for their patience and co-operation, when they were delayed in tailbacks at vehicle check points.
