Many stakeholders in the medical industry have raised their concerns regarding the implementation of the proposed National Health Insurance scheme.
The African National Congress said at its National General Council in Durban that they plan to implement the scheme by 2012.
The South African Medical Association and health care trade union Hospersa says government should set a realistic timeline when carrying out the scheme.
Hospersa general secretary, Noel Desfontaines says everyone has a role to play to ensure that the implementation of the new scheme works.
